Farewell Duncan!
There is a real misconception that animal charities in the UK never work together. The truth is that all the major welfare charities co-operate, to greater or lesser extent, for the benefit of animals. Only in the area of fundraising is there any real “competition” but even this is good-natured rivalry.
At Dogs Trust, we tend to use the term “fellow players” as opposed to “competitors”. We may not agree with all their policies – or vice versa – but we feel that we are all on the same side.
One of our favourite “fellow players” over the last ten years or so has been Colonel Duncan Green – who is shortly to retire as Director General of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
Dogs Trust has worked with Duncan on numerous projects such as conferences, neutering projects, lobbying committees and fundraising events. As well as missing him professionally, we’ll miss his wit, his charm and his appalling taste in socks!
So Best wishes to Duncan from all at Dogs Trust

Farewell Duncan.
Thank you Clarissa and all at Dogs Trust for your kind comments and I will miss you fellow players.
My taste in socks is not appalling. Incidentally today they are the colour of fine claret.

Farewell Duncan
It was a real pleasure working with you Duncan, particularly during those exhausting conferences, when your infectious merriment and spirit(!) helped us all to survive! Have enormous fun in your retirement.
